Killeen: Local man not fooled by scam IRS calls
10 KWTX - 4/10/2017 - Nestor Montoya - Kileen Texas - A Killeen man wasn’t fooled when he got calls from someone claiming to be an IRS agent who said he owned money to the agency. Killeen resident Jay Douglas said the calls themselves were red flags. "Right then there was a clue. The IRS is not going to be calling me because my taxes are already done,” said Douglas.
He called the number back, but when he began to ask questions the person on the other line said they were looking for someone else. "These people are calling to make money off of people that don't know any better, and that's what's so sad. It's unethical, it's immoral, and it's a crime,” Douglas said.
