Officer calls scammer back; exchange goes viral
WMUR9 - 3/22/2017 - Natalie Newport - One police officer in Wisconsin was confused after a voicemail left on his cellphone threatened him saying he need to call back immediately “ … or you will be arrested.” So, Officer Roder in Eau Claire, Wisconsin decided to quickly call back and learn more. The caller left a message saying they were with the IRS and that if he did not call back “right away,” an arrest warrant would be issued for him. Officer Roder decided to use some of his professional interrogation skills and prove that the caller was intending to scam him.
