Retreat
“He who fights and runs away May live to fight another day; But he who is battle slain Can never rise to fight again". Oliver Goldsmith
Entering any conflict without the belief that you will attain victory renders your efforts wasteful. But your actions must be based upon a plan that contains a retreat. As Robert Burns wrote in "To a Mouse ", "The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry". No matter how carefully a project is planned, something may still go wrong with it so while retreating may reflect failure the inability to rise again would be the ultimate failure.
