Treasury's Mnuchin: U.S. won't default on its debt

CNN Money - 6/9/2017 - Donna Borak - As Congress weighs lifting or suspending the U.S.'s debt ceiling, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin on Friday dismissed any possibility that the U.S. would default on its debt. We'll be fine," said Mnuchin at a joint press conference with Canadian Finance Minister Bill Morneau in Ottawa. "This is not an issue, but I don't want to leave any doubt that we have plans and backup plans," said the former Goldman Sachs banker following a one-day bilateral meeting between the U.S. and Canada.
